Helping at-Risk Children
The Reut Sderot Association operates four afternoon clubhouses in collaboration with the Ministries of Education and Social Welfare.
In 2015, 56 children between the ages of 6 and 13 were enrolled in this program. They came from a variety of backgrounds and cultures; most came from destitute families, and all were referred to the program by the municipal Social Welfare office. The clubhouses serve as a welcoming and sheltering home-away-from-home, and the children are cared for by a wonderful staff and house mother who make sure they have fun experiences and two hot meals (lunch and dinner) every day.for some children this is their only food.
